Conduct
-Working on a harvest run, or farm, will sometimes be frustrating, tiring and very demanding. You are expected to maintain a high standard of personal presentation and conduct, both on and off the job. A word of warning - a dim view is taken of excessive alcohol consumption, so if you have an expectation of bar exploration across the mid west, do not apply for this job. It may result in an expensive trip home. A lot of people have made considerable efforts in the past few years to establish the reputation of Australians in the US as good workers to employ. You are expected to continue this reputation and not jeopardise future employment opportunities with the harvesters. No apologies are made for having high standards. Apart from these considerations, working on the harvest run can be very rewarding. The mateship of the crew, the sights seen, and the people you meet in the rural countryside, all add up to something difficult to repeat anywhere else. The people in the US enjoy the company of an international workforce and many Australians return to a warm welcome from friends they have made during their time on harvest.
